Used Cobra Snakebite

2021–2023

Snakebite replaced the King MIM and PUR wedges as Cobra's main wedge in January 2021. The name is the groove: milled deeper and sharper than the rules had previously allowed Cobra to go, with full-face grooves on the high lofts for open-faced shots. Lofts run 48 to 60 degrees across three grinds. The 2021 and 2023 models look alike; the 2023 adds a finer face milling, a raw finish in 2024, and the larger, cavity-backed Snakebite-X.

FAQs

The questions buyers ask most about these clubs.

What's distinctive about Snakebite's grooves?

Milled deeper and sharper than the rules had previously allowed Cobra to go, with full-face grooves on the higher lofts for open-faced shots.

What's the difference between the 2021 and 2023 Snakebite?

They look alike, but 2023 has a finer face milling that Cobra claims adds spin from wet lies, and introduced the cavity-backed Snakebite-X alongside it.

Which Snakebite is most forgiving?

Snakebite-X (2023) — a larger, oversized cavity back with a TPU insert, built for players who want forgiveness from a wedge rather than a blade shape.

Does the Raw finish actually rust?

Yes, deliberately — the 2024 Raw finish is unplated, so the face rusts from the first wet round, trading looks for friction and feel.
