Used TaylorMade Rescue

1999–2011

TaylorMade's first Rescue arrived in 1999 and has a decent claim to being the first modern hybrid: an iron replacement with a wood's sole, aimed at getting the ball out of trouble. The name stuck so firmly that TaylorMade still calls every hybrid it makes a Rescue, long after this line ended.

FAQs

The questions buyers ask most about these clubs.

What is the Rescue line?

TaylorMade's original hybrid family, running from the Firesole Rescue in 1999 to the Rescue 11 in 2011. The name became shorthand for the club type across the industry.

How do the generations differ?

The early Rescue Mid and Dual are closer to small fairway woods; the 09 and 11 are recognisably modern hybrids in shape and sole width. The gap between the ends of the line is considerable.

Is a Rescue still worth playing?

A late-line Rescue remains a capable long-iron replacement, and the used prices are low. Compare it against the P790 UDI or a SIM DHY if you want something that flights lower.
