Used TaylorMade R7

2004–2025

Launched in 2004 with the R7 Quad, this series introduced Moveable Weight Technology (MWT), allowing players to shift cartridges to cure a slice or hook. Spanning the R7 425, r7 irons/woods, R7 460, and the high-MOI R7 Superquad, the family remains one of the most technologically influential lines in TaylorMade's history.

FAQs

The questions buyers ask most about these clubs.

Why is the R7 Quad still talked about?

It put movable weight cartridges into a mainstream driver in 2004, letting players shift the bias between draw and fade. Almost every adjustable driver since traces back to it.

How do the R7 generations differ?

The line ran from the 2004 Quad through the 425 and XD, the 460 and Superquad in the mid-2000s, to the CGB Max and Limited by the end of the decade, with head sizes and weighting changing as the rules and the fashion moved.

What does TP stand for?

Tour Preferred — a lower-spinning build usually paired with a stiffer stock shaft. It suits faster swings and will feel harsh if yours is not.

Is the R7 Quad Mini from 2025 the same club?

No. It borrows the name for a modern mini driver and shares nothing but the badge with the 2004 original. Do not buy one expecting a period piece.
