The shaft enters the middle of the head rather than the heel, which balances the face upward and takes the toe hang out of the stroke — the setup for a straight-back-straight-through path. Padraig Harrington used a South Side for three seasons on tour, which is more pedigree than a hundred-pound putter usually carries.
